Scott Evenbeck is Dean of the University College at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). He joined the faculty at IUPUI in Psychology, after completing his graduate work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He developed the outreach and continuing education activities of the campus as Associate Dean of Faculties before being named to his current position. The University College is the academic home for IUPUI's entering students. It is the locus for the Learning Center, Honors, Pre-College Programs, the Career Center, the Advising Center, and for a wide variety of student support and outreach efforts.
Through leadership of University College, IUPUI was named to the Association of American Colleges and Universities Greater Expectations project, which is articulating expectations for the baccalaureate in the 21st Century. The Gateway Project, a joint effort of University College and IUPUI’s Center for Teaching and Learning, was named Honorable Mention in the Hesburgh competition awarded by TIAA at the American Council on Education meeting in 2002. IUPUI is now participating in the Foundations of Excellence in the First College, Year, of the AASC&U, coordinated by the Policy Center on the First Year of College. IUPUI was also named an Institution of Excellence to the Greater Expectations project of the AAC&U.
