President's Message

Over the past several weeks I have been reflecting on my opening words to you as the new President of Alpha Sigma Lambda. In preparation, I pulled out former messages from past presidents Ray Campbell and George Rogers, the history of the society and notes from previous board meetings. I come into this position with a legacy of support from past officers, the staff at the home office and all of you who serve our adult students. Read more for Dr. Patricia Brown

 

Scholarship Information Now Available

ASL FoundationFive annual general chapter scholarships of $1200 and one of $1500, plus two annual Triangle Club: Second Century scholarships in the amount of $1200 are available to scholarship applicants this year.

For the 2007-08 academic year applications for the Alpha Sigma Lambda Adult Education Foundation are divided into two separate and distinct categories with separate time frames.

The Alpha Sigma Lambda Adult Education Foundation was created in 1983 by a group of adult educators who were active in the ASL National Honor Society. The purpose of the Foundation is to secure, manage and distribute funds for scholarships, publications, projects and related activities beneficial to adult and continuing education.

 

Fairfield University Honors Past Leaders

As part of the fall ASL induction ceremony, the Gamma Phi Chapter honored the late Dr. Aviva Cohen and the late Dr. William F. Murphy for their contributions to the adult learner. Friends and family were present to share memories of professors. Read more about Dr. Cohen's and Dr. Murphy's accomplishments.

Widener University Special Recognition

At this year's induction ceremony on March 18, University College of Widener University made a special presentation for Donald Ellis, University College student and Alpha Sigma Lambda member passed away tragically in fall 2006. Read more about this special presentation

Take a moment to look up your institution on the Chapter page to see if we have the most up to date information. As well, please check email addresses as sometimes there may be a typo or a change we are not aware of.

The Foundation Board is looking for new members who are alumni from the colleges and universities that have ASL Chapters. The Board is composed primarily of academics and we are looking to add members from a variety of educational and career backgrounds. This is a way for councilors and deans to recognize alumni members of ASL chapters.
