2010-2011 Scholarship Information

Application Instructions to Students

To be considered an application packet must include the following:

  1. The application form (typed or printed in black ink)
  2. One current official transcript of your academic work in a sealed envelope.
  3. A letter of recommendation from a faculty member at the institution where you are currently enrolled.
  4. A cover sheet completed and signed by the ASL Chapter Councilor at your institution.
    • Use only paper clips, no staples.
    • The faculty recommendation must be on official university letterhead.
    • Use only the forms linked from this page or provided in packet from your Chapter Councilor  
    • Missing items or materials submitted in other formats will result in disqualification.

Notification of awards will be in June, 2010.

Application Submission:

Submit 3 collated copies of the application to the Alpha Sigma Lambda chapter councilor at your institution. Allow sufficient time for review, verification and submission with a postmark no later than the designated deadline date.

Deadline:

For the 2010-11 academic year applications must be postmarked by April 30, 2010.

Scholarship Grant Guidelines

Principles

  1. Grants will be made to adult students in continuing higher education based on scholarship, leadership, the clarity and content of their personal statement, strength of recommendation and need.
  2. Funds will be disbursed to college business/treasurer's office in the name of the student as a credit to his/her account.
  3. Maximum award per individual will be determined each year.

Non-Discrimination Policy

No applicant will be denied eligibility for a Scholarship Grant on the basis of race, creed, color, sex or national origin.

Conflict of Interest Policy

No relative or member of the household of any ASL Society Chapter Councilor, National Board Member or Director or Scholarship Selection Committee Member will be eligible for a Scholarship Grant.
