Helen DiCave Tracey | 2019 Scholarship Recipient

I was born and raised in Chester, Pennsylvania, and after living in six other states in my adult life, I returned to Chester fifteen years ago to care for my aged mother. During my working years, I had several diverse professions, among them media coordinator, outside sales, medical secretary/transcriptionist, medical writer/editor, psychology case manager, and wildlife photographer.

Since my retirement, I have written an as-yet-to-be-published novel and have helped other writers with crafting their fiction. Currently I am a senior at Widener University , majoring in Liberal Studies and hoping to graduate in 2020. After graduation I plan to work toward a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language, and possibly an MFA in creative writing. I have two sons and a stepson who live nearby and who have blessed me with three grandchildren.
