Kereen Brown is a senior undergraduate student at The City College of New York, working towards a major in Early Childhood Education with a co-concentration in Social Welfare. Her love and passion for education have inspired her to pursue a career in education.
Upon completion of her studies, she aspires to become a kindergarten teacher and hopes to one day open a school on her native island of Jamaica.
She is a humanitarian, a mother of three, and friend to many. Of all the titles that she has held, she believes that one of her greatest titles is that of a student. She believes that one can continually learn from each daily experience. Kareen believes in the utmost importance of loving and caring for those in need and takes every opportunity to do hands-on community service projects.
She was recently selected to serve as a CUNY ambassador in the CUNY Service Corps. as part of Governor Cuomo’s New York Stands with Puerto Rico Recovery and Rebuilding Initiative.
This summer she will be volunteering in Puerto Rico for two weeks, working to provide critically important services to the residents and communities ofÂ PuertoÂ Rico. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, writing poetry, and spending quality time with her children.
