Russell Cordova is a 45 year-old, full-time working husband and dad who went to college right after high school. Having decided to take the proverbial year off, he did not return until he was 42 years old and had a family. It was always his and his late mom’s dream that he finish school. Taking on this task while having four children, a full time job, and many other responsibilities, was a major feat. Having set his mind on fulfilling God’s plan for his life, Rus jumped in with both feet! Above all things he seeks to know God’s heart and responded to that calling to finish school. Despite his full-time job and busy home life, he went after what he knew only God could provide. Now, several years later, Rus is graduating from Colorado Christian University with his Bachelor’s degree, Summa Cum Laude (3.98 GPA).
He has been on the Dean’s list three times and honored to be invited as a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda, which has been one of his greatest accomplishments. The most important lesson to be taken from returning to a higher education later in life, is to show others that there’s no expiration date on a dream!
