Karen Wernli is a senior at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Her major is Elementary Education, and she looks forward to teaching fourth or fifth grade. Karen hopes to create a warm, respectful and engaged learning environment for her future students.
While serving homeless families and at-risk students she gained a powerful awareness of the challenges many students are facing. She feels passionate about helping students have the best educational experience possible.
Prior to college, Karen enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother of her three daughters. She volunteered in her daughters’ schools and served as a board member and volunteer for two non-profit organizations. Karen is active in her church where she has enjoyed teaching children and adults. She loves to read, play the piano, and experience new things!
